Over a century ago in 1894, the first-generation of Nagao Kanekoma Seisakusho, Komataro, began manufacturing as Hirata Knives in the future Miki city.
Through five generations of succession, their Higonokami products have remained uniquely and exclusively passed down just by them within the lineage of Higonokami artisans. So that their knives are the one and only authentic Higonokami.
